Somerset, KY – 12/20/2023 – United Way of South Central Kentucky (UWSCKY) announces eight Partner Agencies for 2024 and five Mini Grant recipients. Non-profits from across the 10-county Lake Cumberland Area (Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne Counties) were able to apply through traditional “Partner Agency” funding or the new “Mini Grant” application in the fall of 2023.
“Our impact across the region continues to adapt and improve as our communities change,” stated Crystal Cox, executive director for the local United Way. “We have some new Partner Agencies this year in addition to several long-standing partners. We will be working more collaboratively with all of our Partners this year, plus we’re expanding our impact through Mini Grants in more of our communities.”
The Community Impact Committee carefully reviewed each application to make sure agencies aligned with the mission of United Way. The Committee also analyzed the most impactful and equitable way to distribute funds to agencies across the entire Lake Cumberland area.
“The Partner Agencies and Mini Grant recipients this year will help us to broaden our impact across the region in 2024,” stated Reci Shook, current UWSCKY board president and Director of Sales with Courtyard Marriott. “We are excited to have new agencies engaging with United Way and look forward to getting to know them and learn more about the work they do every day in our communities.”
