Somerset, KY – 10/16/2023 – United Way of South Central Kentucky (UWSCKY) has opened their funding application cycle for 2024 funding. Non-profits from across the 10-county Lake Cumberland Area (Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne Counties) are invited to apply through traditional “Partner Agency” funding or a new “Mini Grant” funding application for requests of $1,000 or less.
“Over the years we have supported the work of many great organizations through our Partner Agency structure,” commented Crystal Cox, executive director of UWSCKY. “Times are changing and so are the needs of non-profits. Many of our applicants request less than $1,000, so we’re trying to make the process easier for them.”
The Community Impact Committee has worked throughout the year to redesign the funding process for UWSCKY. One improvement is an online application process, allowing easier, more secure transmission of information. Application details can be found on UWSCKY’s website by visiting www.uwscky.org/our-impact.
“We want to make things easier for the many organizations we collaborate with across the region,” stated Reci Shook, current UWSCKY board president and Director of Sales with Courtyard Marriott. “After seeing that many organizations are requesting small dollar amounts for specific projects or needs, we felt this was a good time to improve the process for them, for our long-time Partner Agencies, and for organizations wanting to become Partners of our local United Way.”
Online applications will be accepted through Friday, November 10 at 11:59pm est. If completing an online application is a challenge for a non-profit, they may schedule a time to meet with UWSCKY by email info@uwscky.org or calling 606-679-2974.
